Whenever a client presents to me with an emotional issue, there is a story. I don’t need to hear the story in order to help clear the energy, but whenever it makes you feel better to share the details, I ask you to start tapping while you talk. Usually I choose a specific point on which we both tap while certain emotions might be coming up from the emotionally charged memories.

Why do I do this?

The best application of EFT is to tap whenever you are feeling something that you’d like to clear. In the moment of feeling the charge you can clearly indicate to the subconscious mind and electro-magnetic biofield that the emotion that is coming up is to be cleared. Whether you talk while you tap or not usually does not matter – it is all about the feeling!

So, if you are getting ready to tell a story of past trauma, hurt, pain, stress, I would ask you to tap while you talk and receive the added benefits before we even get started in our session! This saves time, creates the energetic envelope for the session, and starts the clearing work.

So, next time you tell an emotional story – whether you are working with an EFT Coach facilitator or not, start tapping at the thymus point on the sternum between the breasts at the heart chakra area. This WILL make a difference!

If you are active on the EFT group forums you probably notice that there are many frustrated EFT tappers out there who are afraid that they are “doing it wrong” because they don’t see immediate results. Maybe you are one of these who are looking for immediate results and don’t seem to be finding them.

In response to this I invite you to remember that meridian tapping is subtle. It works with the energy of the body’s systems and with your subconscious mind.

Whenever you consciously and intentionally tap on your meridian points (or even just one point) while you talk or think specifically about your feelings and intentions to clear or enhance them, you are creating a direct link into your subconscious mind and your electro-magnetic biofield. A shift will always occur, however you may not notice it because you have certain expectations of how the results should show up.

Example:  You may be looking for a physical cure. The cure may not come after one, two, or several tapping sessions, however you may be guided to a specific new practitioner, piece of information about how to find the cure, or new modality that will ultimately clear your condition. The tapping clears blocks in you to be open to the solution – or to your ultimate goal. It is not for you to question how the end result comes to you. Tapping can clear the subconscious beliefs or past traumas that block you from moving forward. And, “moving forward” may take many forms once you clear the blocking energetics that  hold you back.

So, just remember that EFT tapping can do many things. It allows your subconscious to attract teachers, experiences, information, thoughts & suppressed memories, underlying issues, causes of discomfort or disease, among other things that ultimately will guide you to your intended goal.

And, when you are lucky enough to experience one of the “one minute miracles”, this  shows that past tapping or emotional release has benefited you and brought you to a place where you are ready for the shift and the results that you desire.

There are many energy therapy modalities that employ surrogates when necessary.

I first learned about using a surrogate when I studied applied kinesiology and learned how to utilize muscle testing and make some corrections via a surrogate (second person) in order to treat small children and infants, animals, people who are unconscious or too infirm to be tested. It amazed me that the subject of our healing focus could be diagnosed and would receive the treatment through the use of another person’s body.

Then when I became a Reiki Master I realized the power of distance healing – with or without a surrogate. This opened up a whole new area of interest to me – how one can send energy or prayers or intentions to another and have that person receive them. If you’ve studied any of Gregg Braden’s works you will be able to learn more about this concept of our connectedness with the entire Universe via the “Divine Matrix”, as he calls it.

As an EFT tapping facilitator you may be automatically offering surrogate distance healing in your regular practice if you tap along with your client. It is easy to use a second person surrogate in your EFT practice, and it is also potent to utilize distance EFT tapping. I’ve included some guidelines below for your information:

  1. Set & state a clear intention: Clearly and verbally state that your intention is to be tapping for the highest good of _____ (name them or describe them) and for the highest good of all concerned.
  2. Be clear about who is to receive the benefits of your tapping*: If you are tapping on behalf of somebody else touch them if they are nearby (but not necessary if your energetic intention is strong enough), state their name or description, verbalize that you are tapping for the benefit of this person or animal.
  3. Get out of the way!: It is important that you let go of your ego-based expectations. This is not about you and it is not about what you want to happen. You must let go of trying to control the results – that is up to the person receiving the benefits of your tapping. This is your gift to them and they may receive it in any way that they wish. The conduit for this work is love and compassion, so imbue your tapping with these feelings.
  4. Create specific set-up statements: Use your regular EFT set-up protocol and include the person’s name or use I/me when making each statement. You are sending the message directly into the Universal energies so that all energy will know for whom you are doing the healing work, so include the person’s name along with the first person pronoun because you are tapping as though you are putting yourself into the place of that person.
  5. Be led by intuition: Follow the flow to where it leads you. When you are truly “out of the way”, then you will be guided as to which issues may be involved with the other person, and trust that. Don’t try to control where your intuition leads you, and, on the other hand, do not let your mind get involved with judgement or problem-solving. You will never really know what you cleared or from where it came, but your tapping will always clear something…, and it is none of your business to know, anyway!
  6. Close the session: At the end of your session close it as you normally do, and then cleanse yourself and verbalize tht you are now letting go of the energy of tapping for that person and that you are acting now as yourself again. You may wish to wash your hands, then drink lots of water and take care of yourself because you have probably gained some “Borrowed benefits” or cleansing as you tapped on behalf of the other person.

*[It is useful to send healing energy to those you love, and is always best if you have their permission to work on their issues with them. If you send the healing or tapping as a gift, then they have the freedom to receive or not.]

Recently three of my dear friends of have died leaving their loving spouses grieving for their losses. I know from personal experience how potent the energy psychology tools that I use can be when focused on clearing the emotional pain of grief and loneliness, along with so many other related emotions that come up in a time of loss.

I’d like to share with my friends and with all of you who are also suffering from the loss of a dear one, the following video that provides Energy Psychology tools that can ease your pain.

I invite you to use the video to learn or review the basic meridian points of Emotional Freedom Technique/ EFT that are easy to use, and in the second part of the video I summarize the emotions that 90% of the time are associated with each meridian, so you can tap specific points based on your feelings.

When a dear one leaves, dies, dips into dis-ease or dementia, there is a death of the “relationship entity”. You may feel the trauma from this deep life change as well as many specific emotions that relate to your direct experience.

Many experts and studies state that the loss of a loved one is not only very stressful, but can cost you five to eight years of your life in the limbo of suffering. You can change that by clearing the painful emotions now so that you don’t carry them around for years. They do nobody any good, and can only cause you more problems.
